The San Diego Crew Classic is just around the corner. Selections for boat lineups (select varsity athletes) will be determined over the next couple of weeks. Coaches will be letting rowers know. In the meantime -- here are some preliminary details so that you can start to plan:
Cost: Approx. $500-$600 per athlete (includes air fare, ground transportation, most meals, hotel, race entries, coaching costs, boat trailering, etc.) Because this regatta is not for all rowers, the cost is not included in spring fees. Flights and hotel accommodations for rowers, coaches and chaperones are already reserved. I have some of each available for parents that would like to travel with and stay at the team hotel.
Dates: Athletes will fly to SD on Friday morning, 3/26 (missing school that day) and return Sunday evening, 3/28. Athletes are required to travel and lodge with the team unless other arrangements are cleared ahead with the head coach & the travel coordinator is notified. Please note that group airline tickets & hotel rooms are already purchased and refunds may not be available.
Parents: If you are interested in going to San Diego and need a hotel room, flight, or would like to chaperone, please contact Kate Paisley.
