Meet Our Masters Coaching Staff
Holly Borsodi
Masters Women's Coach

Holly started rowing as a junior in high school with the Cincinnati Rowing Club and went on to row for Syracuse University. Upon graduation she coached the Novice Women’s team at the University of Rhode Island and then went on to coach at UCLA. Taking a break from coaching, Holly became an elementary school teacher in San Jose, CA. She decided early on to return to her true love of coaching and started teaching private lessons in Santa Cruz. She later moved to Portland, OR and competed as a Master Rower only to return a couple of years later to teach rowing once again in Santa Cruz. Holly is married to Chris, who enjoys surfing; they have two daughters, Colette and Ella.

Cymber Quinn
Masters Mens Competitive Program Coach
Cymber learned to row as a junior at Culver Academies in Indiana, where her 4+ was undefeated her senior year. She rowed at Purdue University & Indiana University, where a wrist injury gave her the first opportunity to coach the men's summer sweep program at IU. Cymber also rowed and coached at Indianapolis Rowing Club. She joined LGRC in Oct. 1996 and began coaching the men in 1997. Her teams medaled in all local and regional races, and many national and international regattas, as well.  Cymber and her husband, Bob Conn, founded Boulder Community Rowing and empowered college rowers to coach and cox, while training 150 novices.Cymber served as a guest coach with Holly Metcalf and Buzz Congram at Holly's Row as One Women's Camp. She is a USRowing Level II Coach, and has published numerous articles in USRowing, Rowing News, and Row as One Newsletter.  On land Cymber is a harpist, composer and teacher.
Perry Collonge

Adult Learn to Row Program

Perry's rowing career began at San Diego State University and he has never looked   back!  Perry has coached the Novice Masters at both BIAC and Los Gatos Rowing Club.  While coaching he continued his education earning a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Under Perry's guidance, the Novice program at LGRC has flourished.  When not coaching, Perry enjoys spending time with his wife Annie and their beautiful daughters Gwynn and Jo.

Pam Besteman
Masters Coach, Coxswain
Sculling Coach
Pamela Besteman started as a coxswain for Grand Valley State University. She switched to rowing as a junior and earned a Dad Vail silver medal in the Women's light eight. She began her coaching career at Michigan State University and went on to coach at a number of varsity programs, clubs and camps including Eastern Michigan University, Trinity College (Hartford), University of Michigan, George Mason University, Grand Valley State University, Riverfront Recapture, Ann Arbor Rowing Club and Craftsbury Sculling Center. She resides with her husband, Brian Tryon in Los Gatos.
Andrew McFall
Head Coach
Andrew's rowing career began as a junior rower at LGRC. After graduating he became the' assistant coach for the Masters Novice Program at LGRC for a year.  He went on to coach the Santa Clara University 's Novice Men's Team.  Aware of Andrew's interest in medicine and healthcare, LGRC asked Andrew to help implement a Row 2 Recovery program for the club.  Now in its 4th year the program has introduced the sport of rowing to cancer survivors and their families. Off the water Andrew hopes to pursue a career in medicine.
