LGRC Junior Varsity Squad Rowers only, ages 14-18

Program
Description:


The Rowing Performance Program will emphasize strength, muscular endurance, power development, movement training, injury reduction, energy system development, and nutritional guidance specific to the sport of rowing. Athletes will engage in 6 hours of coached performance training per week for 8 weeks.

The program will begin with conditioning and technical work and end with assessments to evaluate movement quality and each athlete's improvements. These will include the Functional Movement Screen, and several strength assessments.

This program is goal oriented and athletes should expect to see improvement in overall strength and rowing performance.

Each session is capped at 9 athletes in order to deliver quality coaching and maximum results to each individual athletes.

Dates & Schedule:

  • June 19 - August 10
  • MTWTh: 4pm - 5:30PM

Instructor:


Lead Trainer: Blake Gourley (CPT, PES, CES, FMS, CFSC, FRCms, BCCC)

Over the past 7 years, Blake has helped to improve performance while reducing injury rates of rowers at both the high school and collegiate levels. Blake’s goal is to create a positive environment where athletes can safely reach their full potential. Blake is certified as a Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Functional Movement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also a Certified Functional Strength Coach, Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist and Bioforce Certified Conditioning Coach. Blake holds a Masters Degree in Sports Performance Training.
